Takayama Tea Whisks

Tea whisks from Takayama in Ikoma, Japan's only chasen-producing area, said to date to the mid-Muromachi period when the lord's son made one at the request of Murata Juko; the bamboo is split finely with a knife, shaved and woven entirely by hand.
