Sasebo Morning Market

A long-established morning market that began spontaneously along the Sasebo River. Since moving in 1971 to the Yorozu-machi municipal parking lot near the city pier, it has kept an open-air stall style, with fresh fish, processed seafood, vegetables, fruit, pickles, flowers and pottery. Much of the produce and seafood comes direct from producers, drawing professional cooks as well as residents in search of fresh ingredients.
