Called Uontana, this Akashi shopping street is a market said to have been born about 400 years ago along with the building of Akashi Castle. Its arcade is lined with shops selling Akashi seafood, fish-paste products and dried marine goods, and at year's end big fishing-boat banners are put up, evoking a fish town.
