Buko Shuzo Yanagida Sohonten

11 Saitama

The brewer of Buko Masamune, a sake named after Chichibu's Mount Buko, founded in 1753. Its storehouses were built over several years by the eighth head, Kamekichi, and the shop is said to date from the generation before him, keeping the look of the oldest shopfront left in Chichibu. The shop, facing the old Chichibu road, became a registered tangible cultural property in 2004. It stands on the water system of the wells of the Chichibu folk tale of the Seven Wells.
