Edo Kiriko Cut Glass

Cut glass said to have begun in 1834, when a glass shop in Odenmacho, Edo, carved the surface of glass; traditional patterns such as chrysanthemum, hemp leaf and kagome basket weave are cut with metal and whetstone wheels, with no design sketch drawn on the glass.
