Amanosake Saijo Former Shop and Main House

27 Osaka

The former shop of a Kawachinagano sake brewery that began brewing in 1718, built for a sake brewer in the late Edo period. It faces the street with a tiled hip-and-gable roof and a low upper storey; the ground floor front has a projecting lattice and the plastered upper storey has mushiko slit windows. It was registered in 2004. The sake was sold as Miki Masamune until the late Meiji era, then as Nami-no-Tsuru, and in 1971 the old name Amanosake was revived.
