Mizkan Museum (MIM)

A hands-on museum in Handa, the birthplace of a vinegar maker whose history began in 1804, when Nakano Matazaemon, a sake brewer, succeeded in making vinegar from sake lees. Set among the black-walled buildings along the canal, it introduces the history of vinegar making, brewing techniques, and food cultures such as sushi and hot pots. It opened in 2015.
