Ikeda Wine Castle

01 Hokkaido

A winery in Ikeda Town called the Wine Castle because it resembles a medieval European castle. It is a facility of Ikeda Town, which in 1963 became the first municipality in Japan to start making wine. Its underground cellar holds French oak casks and old vintages, and in the brandy room visitors can see the stills and casks of the cognac-method brandy making carried on since 1964.
