Kakukyu Hatcho Miso Museum
23 Aichi
A museum opened in 1991 in Okura, a miso storehouse completed in 1907. It stands on high stone walls built against floods from the Yahagi River, and its ground floor was once used for ageing miso and its upper floor for making soybean koji. In 1996 it became, together with the head office building, the first registered tangible cultural property in Aichi Prefecture, and life-size figures recreate miso making of the past.
