Yanai Kanro Soy Sauce Museum (Sagawa Shoyu)
35 Yamaguchi
A museum in part of the brewing storehouse of Sagawa Shoyu, founded in 1830, showing the tools once used and the production process. The white Meiji-era storehouse still brews Kanro soy sauce, double-brewed in large cedar vats as since the founding. The name Kanro (nectar) comes from a story that Kikkawa Tsunetomo, lord of Iwakuni, exclaimed "Kanro, kanro" on tasting it, and the Meiji-era Railway Song names it as a product of Yanaizu.
