Dish profile

About this dish

Main ingredients
onion, garlic, garlic chives, pork, green onion, house-made thick noodles, soy sauce-based soup made with pork bones and niboshi (dried sardines)
History and origin
The name is said to come from Arirang Pass, which appears in the Korean folk song "Arirang." When it was created, the area around Chonan Town, where the shop is located, had a succession of steep mountain roads, and it was reportedly named with the wish of giving stamina to people crossing the pass. At two shops, the original shop in Nagara Town and a shop in Chonan Town, the flavor has been passed down from the founder to the founder's children.
How it is eaten
A hot ramen in which, rather than putting tare in the bowl, onion, garlic, garlic chives, and pork stir-fried and simmered in soup are poured into the bowl and mixed with the noodles, then finally topped with green onion.
